Kontali is a company within the seafood industry with the most complete privately owned seafood database in the world. With our recent acquisition of Seafood TIP in the Netherlands and Arendals Fossekompani coming in as new owners of Kontali, we are looking for candidates to contribute in our plans for further expansion.

As a data engineer, your main responsibilities will be:

  • Process datasets to predict seafood supply, demand and pricing globally.
  • Develop models appropriate for the problem at hand using machine learning, statistical methods, optimisation methods and other techniques where this applies.
  • Identify ways to improve data reliability, efficiency and quality in our data.
  • Use large data sets to address business issues.
  • Deploy sophisticated analytics programs, machine learning and statistical methods.
  • Prepare data for predictive and prescriptive modelling.
  • Automate model processing and manual procedures continuously.
  • Find hidden patterns using data.

Profile & requirements

  • Higher education within a relevant field of study (master’s degree or doctor’s degree). Relevant experience may compensate for missing formal degree.
  • Able to contribute and cooperate with a multidiscipline and multinational team.
  • A significant set of technical skills, including a deep knowledge of SQL database design and multiple programming languages.
  • Analytical and structured
