Summer School in Computational Physiology 2023

Dear master's students and PhD candidates,

The 2023 edition of the Simula Summer School in Computational Physiology (SSCP) is now open for applications! The SSCP emphasizes on developing your practical model building focused on electrophysiology and mechanics in the excitable tissue space. Over the course of the school you will code your own models, extending through the various physiological scales from protein to tissue. You will also participate in an intensive writing workshop with Nature editors to learn valuable skills in writing and publishing scientific papers, culminating in student reports to be published in an edition of Simula SpringerBriefs on Computing

We are currently seeking master's and early doctoral students to participate, and will accept applications until February 14th 2023

The initial series of lectures will be hosted by Simula in Oslo, Norway (June 19th- 30th), and will be followed by project work, a workshop in scientific writing skills, guest lectures and final student presentations hosted by and at the University of California San Diego (August 7th-15th).

Simula offers travel and accommodation grants to all accepted applicants. These grants are designed to cover major costs associated with travel to/from Oslo and/or San Diego (up to a combined maximum of 16000 NOK).

Details regarding scheduling, logistics, core scientific material, and the application process can be found through our online call for participation

Best regards,
Kim
