Big Data Program, was established in the Business Division in 2015, consisting of the already existing M2M area and the recently established Big Data area.

We are now looking for a Big Data Analyst to join our team!

The Big Data area is responsible for developing insight providing value to our customers and the Norwegian society as a whole. As part of the M2M and Big Data Program you will work together with an experienced team on developing innovative solutions and business models. You will have the opportunity to impact organizations and governmental institutions through your analyses and presentations.

The M2M area is responsible for product development and marketing of Telenors "Machine to Machine" services in the Norwegian market. Our goal is to capture our share of the M2M / "Internet of things" market, with strong expected growth going forward. In order to achieve this, the area is evaluating opportunities for taking a larger share of the value chain in selected industries / "verticals" beyond today's position of providing connectivity.

Tasks

• Understand the business challenge and customer demands - and suggest analytical approaches to meeting these
• Design and perform analyses based on our internal data, combined with data from a variety of internal and external sources
• Work on development, testing and putting solutions into production with support from senior data scientists, research scientists, data architects, partners and project/product managers.
• Structure, deliver and present final analysis report for external clients
• Participate in external client meetings
• Suggest requirements for system support and follow up implementation of this
• Understand necessary privacy regulations and ensure that we at all times are compliant with these
• Develop tools and frameworks in order to further develop the Big Data area in Telenor Norway

Qualifications

• Masters degree in mathematics, statistics, computer science or engineering or another field of study that regularly deals with large volumes of data
• 2-3 years experience is desired, but the right graduates without experience will be considered.
• Familiarity with one or several of the following areas is a plus: Relational databases and SQL Exposure to large data sets, distributed computing, and MapReduce/Spark SAS Visual Analytics / SAS In-Memory Statistics for Hadoop Visualization techniques
